A venture defines as a business enterprise involving some risk in expectation of gain. Many are in pursuit for true success from their rising new ideas to revolutionize and innovate our society and possibly even the world. Their evolving and bright new ideas to improve and better everyday problems or simply just change the way one lives.

1.) My first venture idea would be to open up a David Thompson book store. This would be a popular and innovative idea because students who have old or untouched books can be donated to the school's bookstore. In fundraising for the many of the school's activites, lunches, and events, this bookstore would be just as effective as the Trojan Market. With my personal experience in already working there, I would provide my knowledge and expertise in establishing this brand new book store. With clerks ro organize the books and help the customers, we would not need as much students to work there compared to the Trojan Market. Also being sponsered by our library, our school librarian would also play an important role. They will offer popular teen picks and good reads to our customers as well as donate their old books to the store also. The negatives involving in this idea is that the book supply to sell to our consumers might be little. With not a high success rate everytime someone donates, what happens if one week no one donates? Will it cost more to purchase books and then selling it to our students? The fees and hassle to order and ship these books to our school would definitley be a negative asspect of this venture. BUT this idea would be great signifigance to the school, targetting all age groups with a variety of backgrounds with always ready to read customers.

2.) My second idea is to offer a volenteer group to students who are self motivated to help our community and enviroment. Also people who are in need of experience or community service, this group would be benneficial to all and effective in establishing a name for David Thompson Students. The group would be cost free because of everyone's desire to help out participate in this enviromental movement. By planting trees and expanding our gardens, cleaning up the enviroment, or travelling to a local community center to help out, are just the few ideas that this group can play a major role in. An importance of this group is by not having to worry about "customers" there is always much needed work in our community. The only problem exisiting in this idea is that the possibility of little volenteers. This would definitley impact our group beause with little participation, this group will have less of an impact on our community and society.

Peter Klaptchuk was always interested in the ability of ozone gas to destroy bacteria and its resulting odours, and is now among a growing group in Saskatchewan that has recognized an opportunity and embraced innovation. He developed the "Ozonator" which is a machine that shreds bio-hazarodous waste. When the entire process is complete, the volume of the waste is reduced by up to 90%. According to Klaptchuk, the Ozonator provides zero emissions, is easy to use, and inexpensive to operate. Another great innovator is Bill Kidd. His father, worked in a Saskatchewan Research Council, and they had projects to improve dugout water for residents. They used a coagulant to settle out an entire dugout, but found it expensive and harmful to creatures or heavy rain stirring the water up again. Even though engineers said it couldn't be done, Kidd worked at it while continuing to run his business. After a year, Kidd had developed a prototype and a couple of years after that, had hundreds of water treatment units in farming households. Now, Tec-Water Supplies (B. Kidd's company) has teamed up with Sun Dale resort to test its larger Floc System 100, it allows small communities to use surface water rather than ground water. With the help from government funding, they were able to perform field tests and many bore research to increase the quality and efficiency of this system. He teamed up with Cheryl Bechard and Jeremy Erdmann started Check-It Monitoring. These starters of this company started a computer hardware system to monitor energy consumption in many homes and buildings to reduce excess energy usage and to save more. Their steps to improving energy efficiency and to solve old problems will surely benefit and give good long term side affects to the community and the future.
